Simplex 1F Fiber Optic Patch Cable, Multimode (OM5)
These OM5 fiber patch cables are designed for interconnecting and cross-connecting applications in environments such as entrance facilities, telecommunications rooms, data centers, and workstations.
The bend-insensitive fiber patch cables support multi-wavelength transmission systems within the 850-953nm range, offering optimal performance for emerging Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM) applications. This reduces the need for parallel fibers by at least four times, enabling the use of just two fibers instead of eight for transmitting 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s, while also reducing fiber requirements for higher-speed transmissions.

Connectors
-
FC-Type Fiber Optic Armored Patch Cord: This cord has a metal sleeve for strength and is fastened with a turnbuckle. It’s mainly used on patch panels.
-
SC-Type Fiber Patch Cord: This cord connects to GBIC optical modules, has a rectangular shape, and uses a simple plug-and-pull connection. It’s commonly used with routers and switches.
-
ST-Type Fiber Patch Cord: Often used in fiber distribution frames, this cord has a round shape and a screw buckle for fastening. It’s typical for 10Base-F connections.
-
LC 9/125 2.0mm Fiber Patch Cord: This cord connects to SFP modules and uses a duplex LC-LC connector with a latch mechanism, often used with routers.
Questions & Answers
Q: I saw the term “tight-buffered” in the product title while browsing the specifications. Could you explain the advantages of using a tight-buffered product?
A: A tight-buffered product means each individual fiber in the cable is enclosed in its own protective layer or buffer. This extra protection helps safeguard the fiber from environmental factors like moisture, dust, and physical damage, making the cable more durable and reliable in challenging environments. Additionally, tight-buffered cables are more resistant to bending and kinking, which makes them easier to handle and install. For more details, you can refer to this encyclopedia.
Q: I need this in a different color. Is that possible?
A: Absolutely! i7Fiber offers customizable options. Please reach out to [email protected] for further details.
Q: Is there a way to protect the connectors when installing multiple jumpers at once? Could dust caps or pulling eyes be used for protection?
A: Yes, dust caps and pulling eyes can help protect the connectors. All our fiber connectors come with dust caps by default, which protect the end face from scratches or contamination. Pulling eyes are used for long cable runs, wrapping around the connector to protect it and prevent it from coming into contact with the surrounding environment.
Q: Hi, I need cables with a short boot. Can you accommodate that?
A: Yes, we can customize the boot length to suit your needs, offering options like 12mm, 15mm, or 18mm. It’s flexible! Please contact [email protected] for more information.
Q: I don’t like the individual packaging. It takes too much time to unpack each one, and it’s not environmentally friendly.
A: We can customize the packaging to better suit your needs, such as packaging multiple units together (e.g., 10 units per pack or more). Please contact [email protected] with your requirements.
