MPO Harness Cable, Singlemode (OS2)
The MPO harnesses enable a smooth transition to higher data rates in data centers when paired with our trunks. They are primarily used for patching within cabinets. MTP® cables, offering a cost-effective solution to labor-intensive field termination, are designed for high-density fiber patching in data centers, helping to save space and simplify cable management.
Since the MPO-12 is compatible with MPO-8 fiber systems, it is optimized for connections like 40G QSFP+ PLR4 to 10G SFP+ LR, 400G OSFP/QSFP-DD DR4 to 100G QSFP DR, and 400G OSFP/QSFP-DD XDR4 to 100G QSFP FR optics.

When docking MPO fiber optic connectors, make sure they are securely in place. Typically, you will hear a “click” or crunch sound. If you don’t hear it, attempt to reconnect the connector. -
Maintain Cleanliness of MPO Fiber Optic Splice End Faces
The cleanliness of the MPO splice end face is crucial for minimizing fiber optic link loss. Ensure nothing comes into contact with the end face. If accidental contact occurs, use a specialized MPO cleaner to clean the end face before docking. Always remove the dust cap only after docking the MPO connector to prevent contamination from environmental dust. -
Handle MPO Cables with Care
MPO optical fibers are designed for indoor use with conventional sheathing. When installing, avoid dragging the cable forcefully to prevent potential damage or fractures. -
Avoid Excessive Force on Fiber Optic Patch Cords
Never pull or squeeze fiber optic patch cords during installation. Applying too much force can strain the connectors and cable, potentially affecting the performance of the fiber optic link.

Fiber Polarity
The three polarity types—Type A, Type B, and Type C—ensure proper bi-directional signal distribution.
Note: When connecting two 40G QSFP+ transceivers, use Type B Cross for the polarity. For other equipment, such as MPO-LGX cassettes, you can select any polarity based on your requirements.

Q: What’s the difference between MPO cables and MTP cables?
A: MTP is a trademark of US Conec. Visually, there’s little difference between MPO and MTP connectors, and they’re fully compatible with one another.
Q: Can I add a custom label to the MPO cable, such as a specific serial number for identification?

Q: What’s the difference between male and female MPO connectors?
A: MPO connectors come in male and female versions, referring to the gender of the connector. Male connectors have pins, while female connectors do not. For a connection, the male (with pins) needs to connect with the female (without pins). When using adapters to extend cable distance, one side must be male and the other female. Note that the MPO connector on the connecting module is typically female.
Q: Are these cables compatible with Arista equipment?
A: Cable compatibility depends on the module type and its compatibility, not the MPO cables themselves. The module’s compatibility dictates whether the cables will work.
Q: I only see UPC and APC connectors on your website. Do you offer cables with PC connectors?
