Description

This MTP Female to 8x LC/UPC breakout cable features OS2 singlemode fiber (9/125μm) with Type B polarity, available in 1-50 meter lengths. Designed for 40G-QSFP-LR4 to 10G-SFP+ LR migration, it offers dual jacket options—LSZH (low smoke/zero halogen) or OFNP (plenum-rated fire resistance)—with 3mm (MTP end) and 2mm (LC ends) diameters. With attenuation of 0.35dB/km @1310nm and 0.22dB/km @1610nm, it operates in -20°C to +70°C environments. Fully compliant with CE/RoHS, ISO/IEC 61754, and EN standards, it ensures interoperability and safety.

Guidelines for Proper Handling

  1. Ensure Secure Docking of MPO/MTP Connectors
    When docking MPO/MTP fiber optic connectors, make sure they are securely in place. Typically, you will hear a “click” or crunch sound. If you don’t hear it, attempt to reconnect the connector.

  2. Maintain Cleanliness of MPO/MTP Fiber Optic Splice End Faces
    The cleanliness of the MPO/MTP splice end face is crucial for minimizing fiber optic link loss. Ensure nothing comes into contact with the end face. If accidental contact occurs, use a specialized MPO/MTP cleaner to clean the end face before docking. Always remove the dust cap only after docking the MPO/MTP connector to prevent contamination from environmental dust.

  3. Handle MPO/MTP Cables with Care
    MPO/MTP optical fibers are designed for indoor use with conventional sheathing. When installing, avoid dragging the cable forcefully to prevent potential damage or fractures.

  4. Avoid Excessive Force on Fiber Optic Patch Cords
    Never pull or squeeze fiber optic patch cords during installation. Applying too much force can strain the connectors and cable, potentially affecting the performance of the fiber optic link.

Application Scenarios

1. Telecommunication, mobile network construction;

2. LAN, CATV, Fiber to home application;

3. Optical active terminal connection;

4. Data center network construction.

Strict Quality Control System

Fiber Polarity

The three polarity types, Type A, Type B, and Type C ensure proper bi-directional signal distribution.

Note: When connecting two 40G QSFP+ transceivers, use Type B Cross for the polarity. For other equipment, such as MPO/MTP-LGX cassettes, you can select any polarity based on your requirements.

Questions & Answers

Q: What’s the difference between MPO/MTP cables and MTP cables?
A: MTP is a trademark of US Conec. Visually, there’s little difference between MPO/MTP and MTP connectors, and they‘re fully compatible with one another.

Q: Can I add a custom label to the MPO/MTP cable, such as a specific serial number for identification?
A: Yes, i7Fiber offers customization options. Please reach out to [email protected] for more details.

Q: What??s the difference between male and female MPO/MTP connectors?
A: MPO/MTP connectors come in male and female versions, referring to the gender of the connector. Male connectors have pins, while female connectors do not. For a connection, the male (with pins) needs to connect with the female (without pins). When using adapters to extend cable distance, one side must be male and the other female. Note that the MPO/MTP connector on the connecting module is typically female.

Q: Are these cables compatible with Arista equipment?
A: Cable compatibility depends on the module type and its compatibility, not the MPO/MTP cables themselves. The module‘s compatibility dictates whether the cables will work.

Q: I only see UPC and APC connectors on your website. Do you offer cables with PC connectors?
A: The PC connector has been phased out and replaced by the UPC connector. UPC is an enhanced version of the PC fiber connector with a smoother surface finish, resulting in better optical return loss. For more details on the differences between PC, UPC, and APC polishing types, click here.

Q: What’s the shortest length available for MTP/MPO/MTP jumpers?
A: The minimum length for MTP/MPO/MTP jumpers is 0.3 meters (0.98 feet).
